In an attempt at developing an immunity to writer's block, I stole the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) fanfic100 prompt table and challenged myself to complete one prompt from it, original or fanfic, a week.
This week, it resulted in a Rescue Me fic, and solidfoamsoul threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't post it here.
I've never posted a fic to a community before, please go easy on me. ;~; Hope you enjoy it!

Word Count: 1,811 (about a page and a half)
Rating: R for the typical language of Brooklynites.
Summary: Needles reflects on hearing of Garrity's condition, and his life, and Garrity's life, and their lives as a unit. Non-slash. Big-time spoilers for the Garrity-centric plot of the fifth season, particular episode 5.11, “Mickey.” (No spoilers past 5.11, though, unless they're unintentional; I'm watching on a delay and haven't seen past 5.11.)
Author's Notes: This is a first-person narrative. The bad grammar and poor sentence structure is intentional, and I very rarely type accents, but I felt it was necessary this time, to really help you get into Needles's head.

ok. so yesterday we went to go see bruno. it was alright. funny, check. disturbing, check. what the fuck? check. some 40 year old guy totally hit on me while i was waiting in the concession line by myself. he walked behind me and said, "killer legs. really." what a fuckin' creep.
so we woke up late today and chilled for a long time at taylor's. we went to nate's aunt's pool to swim like we did the first day. i treaded (is that a word?) water for like 15 or 20 minutes. probably closer to 20. work out for the day. woop.
then we went to that vegetarian vietnamese place again 'cause he told us he'd give us free pho. it was pretty good. he was a really really nice guy. he told us about the vegan lifestyle and why should convert. sometimes i wish i could/would.
then we walked around tower city and went into a record store called spinner's. nate bought a pink floyd record and one of the guys gave me a poster for a modest mouse concert that had passed. then we got some good ice cream for cheap. i got strawberry and it was so creamy. yumm.
we came back. harry potter special! haha just kidding. i'm not watching it, but that's cool. whatev.
we are being overwhelmed by nate's cousin, but it's ok. haha. it's entertaining.

yesterday we were kinda late to the airport, but we made it in time to sit around for a while. i hate travelling by plane. blahhh. but it wasn't that bad this time. usually i'm in excruciating pain the whole ride. thank goodness it was different this time.
denver looks like a pretty town from the plane. and it was cool seeing all the mountains with a little bit of snow. woww.
we went to nate's aunt's house when we got here. she has a nice house and a cool backyard with a bunch of turtle. and a real tortoise named mr. t! soooo cool. and also a pretty sweet pool. i learned how to dive. haha. i had two burgers in one day. sounds normal for me. i eat so many burgers. it's like my favorite right now.
then we went to nate's grandparents' house and met them. they're so in love with him. like he's their favorite family member it seems. haha. so many pictures of him EVERYWHERE. and the license plate cover of the red '66 convertible mustang they let us borrow says "happiness is being nathan's grandpa". aww. they're a cool couple with an interesting history.
we went to nate's 1st cousin's once removed house. did that make sense? fuck it. her name's taylor and we stayed the night with her. she's got a spacious house with broken AC. haha. but with the windows, fans and door opened, there's a good amount of circulation. she also has a cute dog named lola. what a coincidence. she's a mutt with big eyes, but she's pretty playful. i want her.
we went to a grocery store called winco which is like a costco but everything is freaking cheap except for individual items like a bottle of coke or something. but whatever. we bought a bunch of stuff for dinner and breakfast. i'm gonna go warm up a burrito after this i think.
we woke up at like 12 today. so we slept for like 11 hours due to the time difference. lovely.
today we are going to a series of underground gardens and then a vietnamese restaurant. it should be interesting.
oh yeah. the weather is pretty warm here. it's like being in san antonio except it's not humid at all. i like this way better, but now my skin feels all dry. no big deal though.

In the hopes of making things easier we've removed the requirement for the nominee's email address when nominating. We would still appreciate this information. Nominee's must have a working easy to use and find method of contacting them from their site/page/blog. Those nominations received with email addresses will be notified first. Should we get flooded with nominations (one can only hope!) and the schedule gets set back we'll let everyone know what's going on and when they might expect to view nominees and vote on works.

It's strange.
I originally loved Young Moz, when I first started listening to the Smiths. Then YATQ came out a little while after and I fell in love with him all over again, but this time he was Older Moz! It's hard to put them together sometimes.
I love both eras equally, but when I see 80s photos I do think, damn. I wish I could have followed him then like I do now. He seems unearthly.
